Hi, I'm Meghnad

I'm an author, journalist, YouTuber and standup comedian. In February 2025 I contested the Delhi Assembly election from Malviya Nagar as an independent. Now I'm on the road meeting other independents, and working towards the 2029 Lok Sabha election.

Can an independent stand alone, fight alone, and win?

India's first open-source independent political campaign, with Meghnad as patient zero. Between now and the 2029 Lok Sabha election, it tests whether a candidate without a party can put up a real fight, and builds towards a network of independent candidates.

The Independents*

Why would anyone fight an election without a party, and stay independent even after winning? We drove from Delhi to Ayodhya and Bihar to interview independent candidates and hear it from them.

  • The film

Filmmaker Satwik's cut: emotional and story-first. It moves through five independents in about an hour, asking who still holds on to hope as the world grows darker.

  • The YouTube show

Meghnad's cut of the same footage: slower and more explainy. Each episode chases down one candidate, gives the context of that place, and ends with their full interview. Coming soon: episode one free, the rest members-first.
